Looking after your container year after year

Raise it and drain around it
Set the container on four concrete pads rather than directly on soil. Air circulates under the floor, water does not sit under the rails, and corrosion from below — the most expensive kind — is avoided.
Treat rust as soon as it appears
Surface pitting takes ten minutes to wire-brush and prime. Left for two winters, it goes through the steel.
Manage condensation
A sealed container loaded with damp equipment “rains” from the inside. Two extra vents or a dehumidifier are enough in most cases.
